1. Who We Are

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to place an order on the Site. By ordering, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and current.
3. Products and Availability
We sell premium California grass-fed and grain-finished ground beef products (“Products”). Product descriptions, images, weights, and prices are provided for general reference; actual product weight may vary slightly due to the nature of butchered meat. We reserve the right to limit quantities, discontinue a Product, or refuse or cancel any order, including after acceptance, if a Product is unavailable, mispriced, or if we suspect fraud or a violation of these Terms. If we cancel an order after payment, we will issue a full refund for the cancelled portion.
4. Pricing and Payment
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and do not include applicable sales tax or shipping, which are calculated and disclosed at checkout before you complete your purchase. We use a third-party payment processor to handle transactions; we do not store your full payment card information. You authorize us (through our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method for the full amount of your order, including any recurring charges you've authorized under Section 5.
5. Subscriptions (“Make It Monthly”)
If you select the “Make It Monthly” option, you are enrolling in a recurring subscription that will automatically renew and charge your payment method each month until you cancel, in accordance with California's Automatic Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 17600–17606). By enrolling, you acknowledge and agree to the following, which will also be presented to you and require your separate, affirmative consent before you complete a subscription purchase:
- What you're agreeing to. Your order will repeat automatically on a monthly basis at the frequency you select, using the same Products and quantities (or updated selections you make in your account), until you cancel.
- Price and discount. Subscription orders receive 10% off the listed price at the time of each charge. We will notify you by email of any price change to your subscription at least 7 days, and no more than 30 days, before it takes effect, and you may cancel before the new price applies.
- Billing. Your payment method will be charged automatically on each renewal date. You will receive an email receipt after each charge.
- Confirmation. After you enroll, we will send you an acknowledgment email restating these subscription terms, your cancellation rights, and how to cancel, for your records.
- How to cancel. You may cancel at any time, free of charge, before your next scheduled renewal date, using the same method you used to sign up: through your account at giveapound.com/account (Manage Subscription → Cancel), or by emailing hello@giveapound.com. Cancellation takes effect for the next scheduled renewal; it does not refund charges already processed for a period in which product has shipped. We will not make cancellation more difficult than signing up, and we will not condition cancellation on speaking with a live agent if you signed up online.
- Confirmation of cancellation. We will send you a confirmation once your cancellation is processed.

8. The Give A Pound Giving Program
Give A Pound operates a charitable sales promotion under which, for every pound of qualifying Product purchased, Company donates a pound of ground beef to the SLO Food Bank (Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County), a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Full program terms and required disclosures are posted at How Our Giving Works. To be clear: your purchase is payment for goods, not a charitable donation, and is not tax-deductible. The donation described is made by Company, not by you as the purchaser.
9. Account Registration
If you create an account, you're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@giveapound.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems; interfere with the Site's operation (including through bots, scraping, or denial-of-service activity); or resell Products purchased through the Site without our written permission.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, product photography, and the “Give A Pound” name and marks — is owned by or licensed to Company and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our content or marks without our prior written permission, except as necessary to place and manage your own order.
12. Disclaimers
Products are sold “as is.” Except for the express commitments in our Shipping Policy and Refund & Return Policy, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Site or Products, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded, including warranties related to food safety.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Company's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site or a Product purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for the Product(s) giving rise to the claim. Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for personal injury caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Company harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in San Luis Obispo County, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, where required by law (such as changes affecting active subscriptions), provide additional notice. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
